HOW TO protect baby's skin in summer

Protecting a baby's delicate skin with SPF 30 natural sunscreen is important to shield them from harmful UV rays and prevent sunburns. Here's how to effectively apply and ensure protection:

Choose a Natural Sunscreen: Look for a sunscreen specifically formulated for babies or sensitive skin. Opt for mineral-based sunscreens containing zinc oxide or titanium dioxide, as they provide broad-spectrum protection without harsh chemicals. Ensure the product is labeled SPF 30 or higher.

Perform a Patch Test: Before full application, test a small amount of sunscreen on a small patch of your baby's skin to check for any allergic reactions or sensitivities.
Apply Generously: Apply the sunscreen generously to all exposed areas of your baby's skin, including face, ears, neck, hands, and feet. Don't forget areas like the back of the neck and behind the ears.
Reapply Frequently: Reapply sunscreen every two hours, or more often if your baby is swimming or sweating heavily. Even water-resistant sunscreens lose their effectiveness over time and with exposure to water.
Cover Up: Use additional protective measures such as lightweight clothing, hats with wide brims, and sunglasses to further shield your baby from the sun's rays, especially during peak sun hours (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.).
Seek Shade: Whenever possible, keep your baby in the shade, under an umbrella, tree, or stroller canopy. This reduces direct sun exposure and lowers the risk of sunburn.
Avoid Sun Exposure: Babies under six months old have highly sensitive skin and should be kept out of direct sunlight as much as possible. If sun exposure is unavoidable, consult with a pediatrician regarding appropriate sun protection methods.
Be Consistent: Make sunscreen application a regular part of your baby's routine, regardless of the weather. UV rays can still penetrate through clouds, so protection is needed even on cloudy days.
